Shut up yer guitar and play us yo mouth!

Okay. Here I go. It's called "Some of My Best Friends are Figments," an eighteen-minute excerpt from my book - the long anticipated, practically legendary (quite possibly mythical) Sisyphus in Khaki. The excerpt you are about to hear was recently submitted to This American Life. Now we shall see if my gratuitous rantings pass muster - Ira Glass' many and stringent requirements for what constitutes "More, Better Radio" (plot points every 45 seconds!). Damn. Sure glad I'm not Ira. Poor guy, sitting there with his stopwatch, waiting for the next plot point to come along and keep him company…

Wouldn't you know it? Here comes the next plot point, right now - another Sisyphean excerpt from my office-worker purgatory, this one a mere fifteen minutes long, titled "Down in the Jungle." It's about those oh-so-daring office-workers who plan vacations that let them walk on the "wild side" (as well as on the beach). Be sure to pack your sunscreen.

I expect to have still more Sisyphus in Khaki up here pretty soon - possibly even within the next 45 seconds. Ready, Ira…? Go!
